Football: Entrance to the World

Soccer is the world’s game. It is a universal language. But don’t call it soccer. Call it football.

Carry a ball with you to almost any part of the world, and once you bring it out you will be surrounded by kids. If you play the game well, you will be given immediate entrance to any culture, no other introductions needed. Show passion and skill, and you will forge camaraderie that would normally take months or years to develop.

  1. Show passion and skill makes a great motto for life.

  2. No other sport like it. 2 rules in my house: 1) You have to play a team sport. 2) You can play any sport that you like as long as it is soccer/football.

    Love the DOF.

  3. Yep, Craig…love that motto!

  4. Christopher…I only wish I played it better. And about the DOF…that 50 1.2 is a bear to focus!

  6. Thanks Mercedes! The 50mm 1.2 is a tough lens to focus though.

  7. Jon says:

I love the textures and DOF. I can imagine focusing at 1.2 is quite tough; especially with a moving object.

  8. James Cooper says:

Gary, I agree 100% about both football & the 50 f/1.2. The neat thing is, when the 50 f/1.2 works, it’s an incredibly beautiful thing… just like football! JC

  9. James…totally agree. Thanks for commenting.
